This is Vatnahlífir. This symbol is to prevent drowning and is found in the Huld Manuscript with this line: Water protection. This symbol is to be worn under the right arm, when you need protection.

Not much else is known about this symbol except that it is still used by fisherman and seafarers in Iceland.
